Beautiful chairs like the Corona chair by Poul Volther and the unique Flag Halyard Chair designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1950 found their place in this home ever since Sara bought the Corona chair when she finished high school. In the living room hanging from the ceiling over the creative corner and behind the stainless steel and flag line chair is the Verner Panton Globe pendant that brightens up the space through its design and light.
One could observe the vintage fireplace typical of the early twentieth century in the living room. Also it has been maintained beautifully. In fact the whole house has some antique hues to it. Every other accessories and furniture in the room has upheld the element of antiquity and they go very well with this pretty little domicile. The bedroom is the loveliest of the lot though relatively small in size.
A majority of the materials used for the construction of the building have been locally sourced. What is most amazing here is rebirth of an almost disintegrated and abandoned farmhouse into a super awesome domicile.
As we step inside a chic looking spell binding interior welcomes us. The use of the colors the choice of accessories and furniture are so enticing but wait until you see the well-kept polished lawn and the beautiful swimming pool that just add to the beauty of the outdoors. And speaking of the boldness of the design we’re completely sold with both the interior and the exterior staircases.
Surprising architectural developments are easy to spot – an unusually shaped home immediately catches your attention. This is the case with the Beam House designed by Uri Cohen Architects – a single family residence that seems to have been folded onto itself. Divided in three different parts – private semi private and public – the house bearing the name of its defining feature is a mixture of traditional inspiration and clean modern design.
Stools sofas coffee tables and even rugs and carpets complement the entire tone of the residence. The choice of the lamps and pendants are also significant since they have key roles in imparting the earthy flavor to the building. The exquisite wooden spiral staircase completes the contemporary design.
My favorite is the kid’s bedroom which in contrast is lavishly decorated and appears like a crowded space full of colors and energy. The outdoor seating arrangement is so cool with the simplicity of the furniture and the lamp shades. Though everything here appears quite simple a lot of effort has been taken to attain the perfection. So that is a perfect example of a countryside home in Ireland. Already longing for one?
