Surprising architectural developments are easy to spot – an unusually shaped home immediately catches your attention. This is the case with the Beam House designed by Uri Cohen Architects – a single family residence that seems to have been folded onto itself. Divided in three different parts – private semi private and public – the house bearing the name of its defining feature is a mixture of traditional inspiration and clean modern design.
A designed by Jeff Andrews in Beverly Hills has succeeded in fulfilling all the demands of the owners — and we must say it’s a feast for the eyes. Andrews knew the owners well as this was actually his third project for the couple.
The kitchen has a wonderful and ample red hanging shelf unit that separates the cooking area from the dining area. the cooking surfaces are arranged so the hose can converse with the guests while the food preparation in happening. A red couch adds a continuation of the accent color as well as a demarcation between the living and dining areas.
A majority of the materials used for the construction of the building have been locally sourced. What is most amazing here is rebirth of an almost disintegrated and abandoned farmhouse into a super awesome domicile.
Schnieders is but not satisfied with the small size of the bathroom and the style of the kitchen. He also does not like the ceiling fans. But we feel that the fans are just alright in terms of the traditional accessories the house has been adorned with. Well he is a man who believes that even if a space is very temporary it should feel like our own otherwise we will be miserable. May be that is why he is so cynical about certain aspects of the house. We wish him and his family that their house under renovation would truly be a dream home.

A lovely home in the countryside – this was the dream of the Italian couple They always wanted to go back to the countryside where both of them grew up. Quite aware of how different childhood would be here as compared to urban areas they wanted to give their children the same exotic experience they had. The farmhouse has a truly elegant look to it.
