Belgian studio Cocoon Architecten started from an existing farmhouse in Genk Belgium and constructed a modern oasis of comfort prepared to take on a new lifestyle. The Framework House now displays the existing building and an additional black volume facing the street.
The table becomes part of the kitchen island’s design and visually extends the flow of the surfaces. Appearing to float above the green lawn this addition extends the interiors offering a new space for the family to relax and socialize in. Increased comfort and a reorganization of the spaces landed this family their dream home.
With beautiful colors and astounding features that could make anyone fall in love with it the entire home has been divided into two equal sections with the help of a horizontal plane that ensures that half of the entire home lies underground and is protected away from the adjacent highway while the other half offers magnificent and unending views of the waves and the rocky coast.
Wooden ceilings make the whole area so admirable and so do the brick walls. Metal rods that hold the lighting props which run across on the ceilings are kept exposed. The flooring looks as if it has been made to reflect the ceiling while the pillars sport a rustic look and the multi-paned windows have helped it maintain the elegance.
Situated next to the owner’s farm this modern display of architecture features a utility wall containing the AC unit storage and bathrooms placed between the public and semi-public programs. A beautiful detail in the living room captures the attention of first time visitors – the part where the exterior architecture forms a bullet shaped nook corresponds to the creative seating unit in the open space living area reminiscent of comfortable lounging chairs.
Perched atop a beautiful spot that overlooks the ocean in a regal fashion the home is as impressive inside as it is on the outside. The indoors are beautifully decorated with top notch furniture and architecture’s skill is exhibited throughout in a striking manner with the use of superb arches and glittering finish. The curved structure is creative unique and definitely one of the most distinctive homes on the Californian coast that has no dearth of luxury homes.
One could observe the vintage fireplace typical of the early twentieth century in the living room. Also it has been maintained beautifully. In fact the whole house has some antique hues to it. Every other accessories and furniture in the room has upheld the element of antiquity and they go very well with this pretty little domicile. The bedroom is the loveliest of the lot though relatively small in size.
