Tatarko tells that the renovation of their house is an ongoing project and that inspiration from Houzz and its large collection of images was a key aspect in all of it. (And we are not surprised at all!)
Wooden ceilings make the whole area so admirable and so do the brick walls. Metal rods that hold the lighting props which run across on the ceilings are kept exposed. The flooring looks as if it has been made to reflect the ceiling while the pillars sport a rustic look and the multi-paned windows have helped it maintain the elegance.
The very first thing you notice here is the use of the colors. Efforts have been to taken to provide each room with special and separate identities. Texture color and outlook of each room are distinct and exist as separate entities connected to one another.
In contrast the kitchen very simple and the main aim has been to make it more functional. The designer has succeeded in that. Like Andrews’ other projects vintage pendants light fixtures vases and the like are used aplenty here too. In short what you get to see is an amalgamation of all styles and periods. It has won the 2012 CH+D Award winner for Residential Interior Design. The house stands on 3000 sq ft of space.
Renovation of refurbishment of a modern home can be really a cumbersome experience and at times does leave one with a bad taste in the mouth if things are not planned for in an appropriate fashion well in advance. Quite aware of how different childhood would be here as compared to urban areas they wanted to give their children the same exotic experience they had. The farmhouse has a truly elegant look to it.
